Visual communication is an essential part of the communication field, and as a professor of communication, I have taught various courses that incorporate visual communication, including courses on media studies, graphic design, and visual rhetoric.
One example of visual communication that I have used in my courses is the analysis of advertising campaigns. Advertisements often use visual elements, such as images, videos, and catchy slogans, to persuade consumers to buy products or services. By analyzing advertisements, students can understand how visual communication is used to create brand awareness and influence consumer behavior. In addition to analyzing visual communication, I have also encouraged my students to create their own visual communication materials, such as infographics, data visualizations, and presentations. These projects allow students to develop their skills in design, storytelling, and persuasive communication. Visual communication plays a crucial role in the communication field, and as a communication professor, I strive to teach my students how to use visual communication effectively to convey messages and influence audiences. As a designer, you need to know the level of restrictions that you have and play around to create messages that are impactful and are in line with the expectations of your client.
